Second Story Addition and Remodel:

Exterior_Remodel_after_300x198Exterior_Remodel_before_300x198The original structure here was built in 1895. As the project progressed we discovered that there had been five additions to the original. This brought many challenges with it such as matching older lumber sizes and structural issues. The second story added three bedrooms and two full baths. We used many recycled building materials such as the wood flooring throughout the upstairs, kitchen cabinets, doors and some specialty stained glass. The home was a feature in the Odom’s Reusable Building Materials tour for two years and was also featured in the Traverse City Record Eagle’s Northern Living section July 11, 2004.

Lake Home Addition:

Whole_House_Remodel_After_640x428 Whole_House_Remodel_Before_640x480This whole house remodel involved almost every part of the home. A family room with beautiful lake view, stone fireplace and bay window was added. The garage went from one to two doors with a large bonus room above as well as two storage closets. A new kitchen with quartz counter tops, two ovens and a Jenn-Aire gas cooktop completed the upgrade in that area and the basement was extended to add a full bath.

Dormer and Bathroom Addition – Matching Log Home Style and Feel:

It dramatically opened up the interior and gives an open and inviting feel while maintaining the exterior’s original character.

Newly  Designed and Defined Entryway:

Here we added a new front entry door system and created the open entry area with exposed beams to give one home a more welcome and inviting curb appeal. Another example opens up the welcoming aspect and includes enhanced landscaping for a more natural entryway. Finally, an over-under porch with balcony condition is accentuated through the use of updated materials and screening for area under the lower landing.
